| hey guys, checking in from taiwan still. i'm at the physics olympiad job already, and i wont be going online probably at all until i get back which is in 10 days. anyways, the job has been the most stressful and tiring 2 days of my life. the first day we were at the airport for about 16 hours waiting for all the students and professors to arrive. some of them needed visas and we ran into some problems for some of the countries (for example, Serbia in the record at the Taiwanese relations department was still part of Yugoslavia, so we had to fight with them etc.). finally everyone got here and then we had to get them into 3 separate hotels. meanwhile we had to take picture of all the events and write articles for the newspaper, which needs to be send in before 10 PM. Yea so, not only are we busy we are also stressed because we are always afraid that some kind of problem will arise. Not all the countries speak english that well either, which is hard to communicate. i think for the past 3 days i've gotten a total of 6-7 hours of sleep. anyways, aside from that, its be a lot of fun. i'm getting along with the ppl really well and its great feeling that i'm being useful. i'm writing from the newpaper office, just send in today's paper 2 minutes before the deadline, phew. i'll check back later. love u guys ^=^ | | |
| ha ... the dsl set up actually worked. I kept guessing what all the random characters meant "i think this must be yes ... " ^_^ with dsl, kazaa is actually going at a descent speed now. gotta dl as much as i can before i leave!
taking the plane by myself for the first time wasn't too bad. well, it was cool because my dad transferred all his mileage to me so i got to take business class. the seats were bigger than economy class, but it was still uncomfortable anyways. the personal tv was the same. i watched "how to lose a guy in 10 days" which was actually a good movie. food was good. i liked the smoke salmon and avacado salad. good dessert wine and sherry also.
breakfast was half a sandwich and a cup of soy milk. cost me equivalent to a buck. i can get used to this.
im me about what to bring back. other than the jay chou cd, i know that already. | | |
| *sigh* my cd-rom drive for my laptop broke. every disc i put in it says "inaccessible". plus, my floppy drive has been broken ever since last summer. i've had this laptop for only 2 years and 3 months, and its already falling apart. so now i've been reading cd's using my cd-burner, but this also means it takes twice as long to burn a cd. considering my burner is already slow as heck ... it takes forever to burn a disc. and i dont know how long is gonna take to fix my laptop after i send it in. hopefully i'll be able to get it back before i leave for college. miss feffi already, although i have been able to talk to her online everyday ever since she left, i still miss her ._. | | |
| hmm ... there isnt much to say but havent updated for a while ... both movies from yesterday were pretty good. i liked lxg better than pirates. but then later i heard from ppl who read the comics (or "graphic novels") and realized that the movie seemed to have messed up the comic a lot. oh well, it was still a good movie. pirates was better than i thought, i didnt expect much because u know, its a ride for god's sakes, disney prolly just dont know what else they can do. ending was a little shaky but still enjoyable overall. oh yea, i unlocked MAX300!! ^^ not that i can pass it though ._. and then finally, pan today for the 2nd time in her entire life called another guy hot. 1st one was the dancer guy from strictly ballroom, and this time is sesshoumaru. sheesh, why do all of you love sesshoumaru so much and have so much against inuyasha? someone today called inu a woman. | | |
| woke up about an hour ago and had breakfast/lunch/dinner. still really tired though. but i should update about AX before i forget everything. got there at around 10ish and stood in line for about half an hour because gilbert and i needed passes. then we went to the exhibit hall and met up with feffi. didn't really buy that much because i thought i could get a lot of things from taiwan. but now i actually kinda regret not buying a few things i wanted, but going again tomorrow and spend another 25 bucks on another pass is not worth it either. feffi went back to volunteering for an hour while we were walking around buying stuff. then the guys went to wait in line for AMV tickets while i waited for feffi to finish her shift and got a free caricature of myself. while doing her shift feffi also took like 150 pictures of ppl dressed up, including a No Face and many of the cosplayers and a lot of ppl i didnt recognize. after we got our tickets i actually forgot where we went for a while but i know we eventually ended up going to eat at a chinese food place across the street near disneyland. and note to jimmy, it was 2 items for 6.95 not 3. then we went to play video games, or rather the guys did and i watched (feffi was volunteering again). then we went to the Yuki concert which was great. The violin guy was so awesome. unfortunately the cd fiction was sold out by the time we got there, so hoefully jimmy and collin can get a copy for me on sunday. then we went karokeing and i videotaped collin and gilbert singing "rain". then we went to the AMV contest and somwhere along the journey we saw fireworks and i got another video clip of collin and jimmy trying to do the korean dance (with their shirts on, thank god). the contest was cool, i liked the comedy videos a lot and a couple of the actions and drama. although it was supposed to start at 9 it didnt really start until like 10:30 and we got out at around 1:30. got home at around 3 and passed out. things i got: 2 t-shirts 1 pin 1 cd 1 poster various other free stuff. | | |
